EU citizens become eligible to apply for permanent residence after completing five years of continuous residence in the Czech Republic.

However, if you are a family member of an EU citizen (whether the EU citizen or a third-country national) who already holds permanent residence, you are only required to fulfill two years of continuous residence instead of the standard five years.
